Weed Supressant Membrane 4.5mx100m

Weed control fabric works by suppressing weeds. When combined with a mulch covering or under paving, light cannot penetrate to the weeds. The unique structure of our membrane gives it immense strength. Weeds already weak from lack of light cannot penetrate through the fabric. However, unlike black polythene, weed membrane will allow the soil to breathe and lets water through.

When covered with the correct depth of mulch, the landscapesuppliesdirect fabric will last for over 25 years. If used uncovered or with insufficient cover the ultra violet rays in sunlight will weaken the tensile strength of the material. A mulch of bark, Slate chippings, decorative aggregates, shingle and stone can be used and it can be laid below your patio or drive to help stabilise the ground.
The product is chemically inert. It can even be used to line pond plant baskets and as a filter layer in fish tanks.

When laying out it is best to peg down using mulch mat pegs, it can be cut with a sharp knife and holes can be cut through it to plant into the topsoil below.

When using a mulch on top, landscapesuppliesdirect bark, Slate or stone will instantly provide an excellent finished appearance, as well as improving structure and fertility over a sustained period of time. The mulch will also act as barrier to help moisture retention.
